Julie A. Johnson (Helena)
Ms. Johnson, an associate with the firm, represents clients in a variety of general civil litigation matters. Her practice includes insurance law, employment law matters and immigration law.
Julie is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts in Montana and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Before joining Gough Shanahan, Julie clerked for the Honorable W. William Leaphart at the Montana Supreme Court. During law school, Julie served as an Articles Editor on the Montana Law Review. Julie also participated in Jessup International Moot Court where she was awarded Best Oralist at the Northwest Regional Competition in 2002 and second place for the team brief in both 2001 and 2002. Upon graduation, she received an honorary membership to the National Order of Barristers for her oral advocacy and brief writing skills. Prior to law school, Julie served in the Peace Corps in Mali, West Africa where she was the health director of a small village. She also taught English in Chile at the Instituto Chileno Norteamericano. Julie spent an academic year in France as a foreign exchange student her junior year of college. Julie, a Helena native, is a member of the Helena Symphony Chorale and is active in Grandstreet Community Theater.
