Timothy C. Fox (Helena)
Mr. Fox is a partner with the firm specializing in litigation, banking, commercial construction, real estate, corporate, bankruptcy, foreclosures and collections, oil and gas, mining, nonprofit, and environmental law. He is a Montana native, and was a geologist before attending law school.
Prior to associating with Gough, Shanahan, Tim was Vice-President and Counsel for Mountain West Bank, N.A. In that position, Tim advised two bank holding companies and eight branch banks in a wide range of legal matters including regulatory matters, employment and human resource matters, commercial transactions, loan workouts, and collections. He was appointed by Governor Judy Martz to the State of Montana Banking Board while employed with Mountain West Bank. Tim formerly clerked for the Hon. Justice L.C. Gulbrandson of the Montana Supreme Court, practiced law with the Billings, Montana law firm of Moulton, Bellingham, Longo & Mather, and was the Environmental Coordinator for the Montana Oil and Gas Conservation Division before moving to Helena in 1995 to work for the Montana Department of Environmental Quality. Tim was formerly the chair of the State Bar of Montana’s Environmental, Natural Resource and Energy law section for 10 years, and is currently an active member of the Montana State Bar Bankruptcy Section, serves on the Montana State Bar Continuing Legal Education Institute, and is a founding member of the Montana State Bar Nonprofit Law Section. Tim is an associate member of the Montana Bankers Association, and the Montana Land Title Association. An avid sports fan, Tim is a master certified USATF track and field official, a member of the National Press Photographers Association, and is an accomplished photographer. He is a member of the University of Montana Alumni Relations House of Delegates and has served on the Boards of the Helena Florence Crittenton Home, the Carroll College Saints Athletic Association, and the Helena Symphony Society, and the Helena Christian Schools. Tim has also served on the Board of Trustees of the Montana Historical Society, and the Board of Trustees of the Billings, Montana Symphony Society.
